What files are incompatible with TI-SmartView?
TI-SmartView will not open or use the following file formats:
TI-83 Files:
Any file extension that begins .83
will not load into the TI-SmartView software, even though they are compatible
with the TI-83 Plus/TI-84 Plus. To use these files:
• Rename the
extension to be a .8x file. For instance, the filename foo.83l (a TI-83 list
file) would be renamed to .8xl (a TI-83 Plus/84 Plus list file).
• Copy
the file from a TI-83 to a TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus. Once the files are on the
TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus calculator, use TI Connect to copy the files to the
computer. The files copied over will be in the proper .8x format.
TI-84 Plus Silver Edition and TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition
Incompatibility:
• In TI-SmartView 4.0 you can change between
calculator models TI-84 Plus Silver Edition and TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition by
going to [View] [Graphing Calculator Model]. Please refer to the below chart to
determine if a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition file can transfer to the TI-84 Plus C
Silver Edition and vice versa:

Note: App Vars and Programs should be reviewed for use
after the transfer between the TI-84 Plus Family and the TI-84 Plus C Silver
Edition graphing calculators. Some App Vars may not setup an App as expected.
Some Programs will need to be modified due to the difference in screen
resolution and new commands.
